What the hell just happened?
O.K. I just returned from the Whiskey
Sunday European tour and am still trying to get back on top of
things. Actually I returned a couple weeks ago, but the fog still
hasn't totally cleared. Thank You to all the great bands we played
with, and all the cool clubs and promoters who fed us, and got
us really, really, really drunk. Thank you Jan for not killing
us and putting up with our drunken banter, you seriously rule.
Check the Whiskey site for more info soon!
Vinehell has a bunch of stuff happening. The Ribzy CD, Whiskey
Sunday/Morgue Side Cinema split 7", and Whiskey Sunday 7"
will be out in a matter of months, and shortly after that will
be To the Bitter End 3 and the Vacant Churches/Stajnas Lobos split
7". I also aquired the Probe Records back catalog which will
be added soon. I'm just working on a new webstore that will hopefully
be up and running in the next weeks.
Stay tuned! Cheers, Rob

TIME WARP!!
Vinehell is taking a step back in time
and doing a full length CD and split 7" by these unsung heros
of San Jose punk, RIBZY!!
They
appeared on "Not So Quiet On The Western Front" comp
LP, and a few other comps. That was about it even though they
recorded enough songs for a couple albums. This CD is a collection
of those recordings from 81 - 85, as well as a couple new songs
recorded in 2003 for the San Jose Punk Reunion show. The split
7" will be with Grim Reality featuring Jason Honea from Social
Unrest, who also played the reunion show and recorded some new
tracks.
The
CD will be out by Aug. 1st and the split in September 2006.
(A
few words from Sped McGregor, writer/Ripper magazine) Ribzy was
one of the first punk bands to emerge from the San Jose area,
playing first in the living room of Mike Voss/Los Olvidados, then
opening for every major act coming through, in part because they
hosted their own shows and often booked themselves as support.
I have seen them play with all our heroes of the time, Dead Kennedy's,
Black Flag, Circle Jerks, TSOL, DOA, Husker DU, Danzig, Crucifix,
JFA, 7 Seconds, Necros...etc. Although they were constantly changing
band members and writing new material, their sound remains uniquely
theirs. A lot of bands claim to sound like no one else, but seriously,
check these guys (and gals) out. They fucking shred!!!
