I'm
not sure where to begin...but, about 10 years ago my buddy
NoName and I were walking around the Berryessa Flea Market
when for some funny reason I wanted to go inside this little
Mexican Cowboy store. As we walked in I saw them. Hanging
on the wall, four radiant, slightly used Flaming Mariachi
uniforms. They were all different in color, and each had
its own special Flame-design. They were so beautiful. I
Swelled up and NoName started to cry. The colors blended
so perfectly, truly attire for a king or nobleman. I had
to have them. "Cuanto esta?" I asked. "$19.99
each" he replied in perfect English. After a long negotiation
I was able to talk him down to $80 for all four. Things
were not as glamorous as they are now back then, and NoName
and I were about $70 short. I him asked to hold them for
us. We'd be back next weekend. To make a long and anxious
week short, Saturday finally arrived and I woke up feeling
like it was Christmas morning or something. I was so excited,
probally the happiest time of my life. I was shortly going
to become the proud owner of the Valley's sweetest threads.
I felt like wearing clothes so splendid as these would surely
make the elite notice. I was finally going to get the respect
and attention I had lacked for so long....... but they were
sold.

IS JUST A FEELING

Hate
is just a feeling is a 5 piece punkrock act from Stockholm Sweden.
They play punkrock from when it started, died and resurrected.
With influences from folkmusic they hit with both distorted guitars
and a violin.
The
hate is bound with scraps of memories from the past. All the members
have been working together in earlier projects playing punkrock,
folkmusic and rock'n'roll. Thabbe is the kid of the crew, running
the ancient machinery of percussion. Micke walks the road just
behind him as he brings thunder with his bass. Clabbe and Marcas
wroar as absolute hyenas with their guitars and Marcas, if not
nude, are lurking in the concrete forest with his fiddle. Nizze
is crying with his hard, deep voice telling tales about the emperors
betrayal and the peoples self destructive ways.

Kalashnikov
were born in 1996 on the dirty floor of a squat in Milan, to give
vent to the adolescent restlessness of three guys with their ears
clogged by Wretched, Bad Religion and Clash. Under the drunkenness
of the heavenly libertarian nectar and rejecting the ruling alternative
thrash music, Kalashnikov are created with the wish to put together
their own utopias and passion. Through the years there were many
changes either in the line-up, or in our music and our lyrics,
but anyway some features have lasted: Kalashnikov have always
played a concentration of melodic and fast music with high libertarian
spirit.
Today Kalashnikov-collective make music in pure DIY spirits. In
the past years we have released three albums:

RIBZY
Ribzy is one of the first punk bands
to emerge from the San Jose area sometime around 1981, but If
you only know Ribzy from The Maximum Rock & Roll album released
in 1982 (spelled Ribsy then), then do yourself a favor and check
out their new CD of old archived stuff (and some from 2004).
Featured in such fanzines as Flipside, MR&R and of course
Ripper, Ribzy quickily emerged as a band of highly creative
freaks who made kick ass non generic music. Although some have
discovered Ribzy on other various compilations they have appeared
on, they wallow in semi-obscurity because several albums they
recorded were never released (long story, see History in blog).
I have seen them play with all our heroes of the time, Dead
Kennedy's, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, TSOL, DOA, Husker DU, Danzig,
Crucifix, JFA, 7 Seconds, Necros, Angry Somoans, Suicidal Tendencies
etc, the list goes on. In the true spirit of DIY, Ribzy rented
halls in San Jose and hosted dozens of epic punk shows in the
early 80's. They became regulars in the San Francisco scene
as well, eventually even headlined the famous Mabuhay Gardens.
After a 15 year hiatus and stints in several other bands (including
Social Unrest and Crime), members of Ribzy started playing together
again after being asked to play a San Jose punk reunion show
in 2001 with The Faction, Los Olvidados and new comers The Forgotten.
A second reunion show a year or so later included Grim Reality,
Executioner, The Bone Shavers, Frontline, The Faction, Los Olvidados
and Ribzy. The response to those shows inspired them to continue
playing, and although some compare it to a train wreck about
to happen, they are tighter than ever!

VARNAGEL
Varnagel is a trallpunk band from
Sweden. Trallpunk is a style of punk that comes from Sweden
and Sweden only. Yeah, they have their Dis-core(Scandi-core),Garage
Rock, Power Pop, Punk, whatever, but the one thing they can
call their own is trallpunk. People not keen on foreign bands
or bands that don’t sing in English, say it sounds like
Bad Religion, but it’s much more than that. The vocal
lines and guitar melodies have a distinct Swedish folk sound,
that comes from Swedish bands like Asta Kask, Strebers, Charta
77, DLK, Raserbajs, Radiaktiva Rakor etc….
